Job description
BasisPath is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support the development, modernization, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical applications. This position is ideal for a DevOps professional with a strong software development background, particularly within Java and JavaScript environments, who is comfortable working across application development, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Linux-based infrastructure.
The selected candidate will work closely with software developers and engineering teams to integrate and modernize applications, maintain automated build and deployment processes, troubleshoot application and environment issues, and support secure software delivery in an Agile environment.

Job requirements
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop, maintain, and support Java-based applications and associated development environments.
Support application modernization efforts, including upgrading applications between major JDK versions.
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot applications utilizing Spring Framework, Tomcat, and Maven.
Develop and support JavaScript-based applications using Node.js, NPM, and Express.js.
Develop, maintain, and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines supporting automated application builds, testing, and deployments.
Support artifact and dependency management using Nexus.
Build, deploy, and troubleshoot applications running within Docker containers.
Support applications and development environments hosted on Red Hat Linux servers.
Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and other technical team members to troubleshoot application, deployment, and infrastructure issues.
Participate in Agile software development activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of development and deployment processes.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Experience developing and/or supporting Java applications in a production or enterprise environment.
Experience with Spring Framework, JDK, Tomcat, and Maven.
Experience upgrading or migrating Java applications between major JDK versions.
Experience developing and/or supporting JavaScript applications.
Experience with Node.js, NPM, and Express.js.
Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD or comparable CI/CD pipeline technologies.
Experience with Docker containerization.
Experience working within Red Hat Linux or comparable Linux server environments.
Experience working within an Agile software development environment.
Ability to collaborate across development, DevOps, and systems engineering teams.
Must be able to work on-site at the required customer location.
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Security+ certification or ability to obtain Security+ as required by the program.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
Experience with Nexus Repository or similar artifact management tools.
Experience troubleshooting applications across development, container, Linux, and deployment environments.
Experience supporting application modernization or technology refresh initiatives.
